Staying Creative Gallery is proud to announce that our first art show and grand opening is coming in the Spring of 2022 featuring new works by Nathan and Kristofer. Inspired by their new surroundings, Nathan and Kristofer have been excitedly creating new pieces and cannot wait to share them with you.
Staying Creative Gallery is a brick and mortar location situated in tranquil Brentwood Bay, on the traditional lands of the Tsartlip First Nation, one of five communities that make up the W̱SÁNEĆ Nation on Southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
Kristofer has been painting with watercolours for more than thirty years. What you see here is just a glimpse into a massive collection of art he has created over the years for collectors, friends & family.
Commissions are always welcome and encouraged if you are looking for something specific or personal, as he can work within any budget. If you are interested in discussing a commission, please send him an email at kristoferparley@gmail.com
From Kristofer’s use of creative substrates for his pen & ink pieces; to his massive varnished watercolours on wooden cradle panel, his most recent pieces can be seen on his website.
Nathan NAZO Davis is a visual artist with roots in graffiti spanning over three decades. His vibrant colours and skillful techniques learned at an early age lend well to his current mediums of choice.
From realistic animal portraits to custom model trains, from large scale murals and abstract paintings to digital illustration, Nathan’s work has evolved into an organic representation of what inspires him. Living in Victoria BC with his husband and fellow artist Kristofer Parley, in the Heart of Canada’s Oldest Chinatown, his surroundings became a muse from where his creativity flowed for almost 8 years. In the Summer of 2021 they left Chinatown to open their own gallery in beautiful Brentwood Bay, BC which is a short 25 min drive from downtown Victoria.
Pierre… aka P.Man / Grandpa / The Love Log / Mr. Monsieur / Chilly Ramone!
Nathan from Staying Creative Gallery took a photo of his actual acrylic painting of Pierre and used his iPad to make a digital background using a couple of Pierre's nicknames. The idea was that this could be his high school yearbook photo.

Locals of Victoria, B.C., consider coffee culture a defining aspect of their city. And it’s true—as Victoria steadily establishes itself as a hub for some of the best roasters in the country, fantastic shops continue to emerge, keeping the bar high when it comes to your morning latte or pour-over. Here, five local spots excelling in ambiance, quality, and craft.
Hey Happy
Since opening their doors in 2014, Hey Happy has earned a place in the caffeinated hearts of third-wave coffee appreciators. With its lime green walls, large windows, and pastry-filled display cases, the ambience inside is just as cheerful as its name would suggest. Hey Happy brews beans from Calgary-based roaster Phil & Sebastian, as well as Portland’s Heart (among other worthy products). Offering “single-cup service”, orders brewed using a Chemex are weighed, poured, and served with precision by staff who are skilled in producing a product that is full, robust, and satisfying. 122- 560 Johnson St.
Bean Around the World Victoria
For twenty years, we have been working with Royal Coffee in Emeryville, California to carefully select organic coffees from around the world that suit the palate of our loyal customers.
We purchase green coffee in season and in small volumes to ensure that it’s at its peak in your cup. Opening in 1996, in Victoria’s historic Chinatown, Bean Around The World has been an inclusive, welcoming neighbourhood haunt for both locals and visitors alike. We believe that serving the best quality coffee along with exemplary customer service is what keeps people coming back. The art on our walls changes monthly and is curated to highlight the diversity of Victoria’s art scene. Here is a look at some the artists that have brought life to our cafe.
The Bean Around The World Roastery has long made a point of connecting to the people who grow the coffees they carry. From these relationships, conversations that go beyond coffee come to life and real change is made possible.
